This spring, Rock City comes alive during Gnomes & Gardens. Native blooms paint the trails in color while soft mossy greens blanket the rock walls and winding stone pathways, creating a kind of magic you can only experience when you slow down and look a little closer.
Join the interactive adventure of Gnome Quest as you wander the gardens. Search for hidden clues, discover tiny treasures, and follow the playful mischief of the mountain’s gnomes around every bend.

The Gardens
Enjoy early blossoms like forsythia and daffodils then come back as the gardens awaken with native azaleas and rhododendron later in the season. Come Walk winding trails and take in views that stretch for miles.
Carry your sense of discovery into Gnome Quest. Guests of all ages can search for hidden clues, uncover small treasures and follow the gentle mischief of the Gnomes who call the mountain home.
Tom Thumb Timber Roll is an exciting hands-on experience at Rock City, where visitors send a wooden ball through a gravity-powered obstacle course built into the natural landscape. Part game, puzzle, and spectacle, this custom-made course features inventive contraptions that send the ball bouncing, twisting, and tumbling. Various sections are spread throughout Rock City, with the main course along Legacy Lane.
Inspired by Tom Thumb’s playful spirit, this all-ages activity is simple for kids, engaging for adults, and endlessly fun. Visitors can purchase a Timber Roll ball at Gardens Gateway or Prospector’s Point and bring it back on future visits to test new strategies!

Chanticleer Inn Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located across the street from Rock City. The bed-and-breakfast is a prime location for the hundreds of thousands of annual out-of-town visitors to Rock City Gardens.
