See Rock City Inc. is excited to continue its educational partnership with The Howard School. On Aug. 2, SRC Inc. President and CEO Doug Chapin announced plans to invest another $250,000 to the See Rock City Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management, a Future Ready Institute at the high school. ⇒ HAPPY CHRISTMAS IN JULY- ROCK CITY DONATES ANNUAL GIFT TO RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES (July 31, 2023)
See Rock City Inc. donated $21,550.25 this spring to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga, its longest-standing community partner. For over 20 years, a portion of each ticket sold during Rock City’s Christmas-themed Enchanted Garden of Lights event is donated to RMHC, and this year was the single largest donation to date. Nearly $300,000 in contributions have been made in total. Rock City selects local partners for each of its seasonal events, shining a light on their causes through co-advocacy and financial support.

A well-known “See Rock City” barn has received a fresh coat of paint to celebrate Rock City’s 90th anniversary year, completed earlier today in Fort Payne, Alabama by Rock City’s innovation team. This unique two-sided barn was originally painted over 60 years ago with separate nostalgic messages by Clark Byers, the legendary longtime painter of many Rock City barns nationwide. Read More…

⇒ ROCK CITY, EPB AND SEVEN STATES POWER PARTNER TO DEPLOY EDUCATIONAL SOLAR ARBOR (November 5, 2021)
Rock City, EPB and Seven States Power Corporation are celebrating the completion of a new solar powered arbor that will reduce energy consumption and enhance educational opportunities at Rock City. The partners began construction of the plant arbor, which is being used as a framework for the solar system installation, near the Rock City guest entrance in August 2021. Power from the solar arbor is connected to the ticket booth, which will enhance the availability of sustainable energy to the facility while also helping the partners educate Rock City customers about solar energy and promote the use of it. Each award for $2,000, renewable up to four years, is presented in honor and memory of Martha Bell Miller whose portrayal of the beloved “Mother Goose” at Rock City has left a notable legacy. ⇒ BROTHER-SISTER PEREGRINE FALCONS TO BE RELEASED FROM ROCK CITY JULY 3 (June 26, 2019)
Rock City has continued its partnership with Wings to Soar in an ongoing peregrine falcon restoration project to reestablish the breed to this region. A pair of siblings, one male and one female, have been in a hack box at Rock City since June 13 to prepare for release into the wild. This is only the second time a female has been released from Rock City. At 25 days old upon arrival, the birds are to remain in the hack box until their planned release at sunrise on July 3. At Rock City on Tuesday, May 21, officials announced the installation of the See Rock City Institute of Hospitality and Tourism at The Howard School marking the partnership on the attraction’s 87th anniversary. The commitment by SRC Inc. to continue through 2022 includes a significant financial contribution, as well as field trips, job shadowing, faculty touring, advisory roles, and preferential part-time job availability for the students. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal recognized See Rock City (SRC), Inc. CEO Bill Chapin as the recipient of the Tom Kilgore Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ga. Governor’s Tourism Conference on Jekyll Island earlier this month. Several of the state’s top tourism professionals were awarded various honors at the annual event, hosted by the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and the Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (GACVB), which brought together more than 400 tourism industry professionals from across the state. See Rock City (SRC) Inc.’s President and COO Susan Harris was awarded Tourism Manager of the Year for a large organization at the Tennessee Governor’s Conference on Tourism held in Kingsport, Tennessee last week. The Tennessee Hospitality and Tourism Association’s (TnHTA) Stars of the Industry Awards recognized an individual at the executive level who had a proven track record of management excellence, industry involvement and community service – with outstanding job performance that goes above and beyond normal job responsibilities, including excellent service to the property, guests and community. A $150,000 campaign goal is slated for a new state-of-the-art STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) Aquaponics floating greenhouse and center on the school’s pond.
