Rocktoberfest

Get in touch with Rock City’s German Heritage during the 5th annual Rocktoberfest! Rock City Square will be transformed for a celebration of harvests and fall foliage. Stroll through an atmosphere of German music and food. This premiere Fall Celebration includes live German Music, Polka Lessons, German Food, Specialty Beer, Costume Characters and Fun for the whole family as Rock City celebrates its German heritage and honors its founder Frieda Utermoehlen Carter!

Event Hours

Saturdays and Sundays in October through October 25th
11am – 5pm

Event included with regular Rock City admission ticket

Event Activities

 

  • Big River Beer Garden
  • German Food including grilled bratwurst, homemade sauerkraut, & roasted potatoes
  • Special Souvenirs including novelty hats: chicken hats for the chicken dance and green Biarritz German hats. Also souvenir beer mugs that include a free first beer and discounted re-fills. Also, purchase one of the all-new pink Rock City Survivor Birdhouses with proceeds benefiting Scenic City Survivors.
  • Beer 101 Workshops - October 17th & 18th - 3:00pm - take a beer 101 class with David Sharpe, Head Brewer at Big River Grille & Brewing Works
  • Polka Dance Lessons with Jeff & Amy Sandy (12:30pm and 2:00pm)
  • Live Bands with audience participation for the “Chicken Dance” and other favorites (see performance schedule below)
  • Costumed characters available for photos
  • German Themed photo opportunities
  • Bavarian Express Train Rides*
