How do I apply at Rock City?

You can apply in person at Rock City seven days a week between the hours of 8:30-4:00; or you can mail your resume and/or application to the address below; or you can complete the application online.

How old do you have to be to work at Rock City?

The majority of our positions require individuals to be 16 years or older.  We do have a small number of seasonal positions in the spring/summer that individuals 15 or older may apply for.

 

When do you accept applications? 

Rock City accepts applications year round (regardless if there are current openings at the time or not).

 

How long will you keep my application?

Rock City maintains applications and/or resumes on file for one year.

 

What happens after I apply?

Rock City will review all applications.  If an interview is desired, we will contact you.  Due to volume, we do not contact everyone that applies.

 

How much do you pay?

Pay is based upon the job an individual is hired for and will be discussed during the interview.

 

What will my schedule be like?

The majority of our departments at See Rock City Inc. have variable schedules that change each week.  Most often, we do have the flexibility to work with school schedules (and/or second jobs).  Please keep in mind that, due to the nature of our business, employees should typically be prepared to work both weekend days.

 

Is there any special training I have to attend before I start?

Yes, all new employees must complete our 2-3 hour orientation training program.  This will instruct you in areas of guest service, park history, and policies and procedures.  In addition, most departments also require training in the areas of cash handling and cash register operation.

 

 Is there a uniform that we have to wear?

Yes.  Rock City welcomes guests from all over the world and we like to keep a very conservative, professional appearance.  We provide shirts (and jackets if in season) to all employees.  Employees must provide khaki pants, shorts, or skirts.  Employees must also provide tennis shoes, brown or black boots, or brown or black shoes.  Uniform and grooming policies are covered in the interview, as well as, in detail during Orientation.   

 

How often are you paid?

Rock City pays our hourly employees on a weekly basis.  The Rock City pay period runs from Wednesday thru Tuesday, and employees are paid three days later, on Fridays.  We also offer direct deposit to our staff.
